One day Cooking Classes in Umbria

We give one-day cooking lessons to anyone who wants to learn the culinary tradition of Umbria and Italy in a warm, relaxed family atmosphere.

Cooking classes take place in Tita’s elegant Italian home, which is on a hillside with ancient olive groves and views of the Umbrian countryside. Upon request, we do cooking classes in vacation rentals. For an idea of how these are organized, take a virtual tour of a cooking lesson at a villa rental.

Tita, whose culinary skills were passed down from her great-grandmother, personally produces an exquisite olive oil that is used during the hands-on cooking classes. Using only the freshest ingredients, some of them from Tita’s garden, we give cooking lessons that include several different appetizers, two first courses such as pasta and soup, and a second course of meat and a cooked vegetable. Umbrian white and red wines and two desserts complement these elegant meals. Personal participation is encouraged, with the emphasis on fun. In addition to sharing the “art of cooking” and Tita’s home, we value the intercultural exchanges experienced during our lessons. Everyone gets a chance to tell his or her story.

We can vary our menus to suit vegetarian diets and to accommodate food allergies or other restrictions.

Tita’s home is in Fontanabella and is a 10-minute drive from the center of Perugia. It is off the beaten track, nestled between Perugia and Lake Trasimeno, yet close enough to allow you to explore the nearby towns of Assisi, Spello, Spoleto, Todi, Orvieto, Bevagna, and Cortona.
